WIRE Supports 3rd – 12th Grade Students!

By on Nov 10, 2017 in Uncategorized |

Thanks to a new partnership between CIS of Cape Fear and the City of Wilmington, area students now have a new welcoming space to find support and resources!

On October 18, 2018, CIS Cape Fear hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the re-opening of their Wilmington Youth Center for Inspiration, Recreation, and Education (WIRE), at its new location on the corner of S. Orange and 11th streets downtown, just behind Gregory elementary, Williston Middle, and New Hanover High schools.

WIRE supports the needs of at-risk students and their families by providing positive, daily programming, free of charge. Not just a safe place filled with caring adults, WIRE offers New Hanover County students, grades 3-12, educational, physical, and mental health support, as well as resources and referrals as needed.

Community service partners across the area are invited to be a part of the center, creating opportunities for even greater collaboration among all those committed to helping our kids succeed.
