Congratulations to Aaliyah Bland, the 2026 recipient of the Miles Lewis Memorial Art Scholarship!
Aaliyah attended CIS’s WIRE Afterschool, has volunteered at Freedom School, and with CIS’s Teen Court over the last 3 years. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and the Student Government Association serving as Secretary and VP. In the Fall, Aaliyah plans to attend North Carolina A&T University.
The scholarship fund was established in 2025 in memory of Miles Lewis, the talent behind the CIS Fashion Show’s art and the late husband of Fashion Show Director Carla Lewis. In a moving act of generosity, the Lewis family chose to honor Miles’ life by establishing the Miles Lewis Art Scholarship to support CIS students pursuing use of their own creative gifts.
