21st Century Community Learning Centers

Our 21st CCLC programs provide after school, academically focused enrichment opportunities for students. We incorporate targeted tutoring, homework support, and engaging enrichment activities daily, with transportation provided. Communities In Schools serves students at Burgaw Middle, Cape Fear Middle, West Pender Middle, Penderlea School, Pender High School, and Heide Trask High School. Students also enjoy field trips, college tours, robotics teams, and more. Outcomes of the program include increased attendance, decreased discipline referrals, increased parental involvement and improved proficiency in reading and STEM-related courses.
